TURNER`S TIDES & TWILIGHT | JUNE 19-23
Join artist Tom Rickman for this exciting short course based in the studios here at Dartington and on location at South Milton, on the wild south Devon coast.
Ideal for those looking to be a bit freer and more experimental in their work, this oil and colour wash course is an opportunity to learn from an acclaimed contemporary landscape and seascape artist and also take inspiration from the work of JMW Turner and the breathtaking scenery of the South Hams.

A recent @arts_and_place fieldtrip to Wistman`s Wood and the West Dart Valley on Dartmoor. The studesnts were re-locating Nancy Holt`s Trailmarkers (1969) on the walk from Wistman`s Wood.

Congratulations to artist Rosie May Jones, current @arts_and_place student, who has just arrived in Venice for her @britishcouncil fellowship @venice.architecture.biennale where she`ll be developing new work and contributing to the life of this year`s event. Follow

Here`s what Rosie had to say as she set off to make her mark on the Floating City: "What an incredible opportunity to develop my practice in one of the most unique cities in the world. During my one month fellowship in Venice, I will be creating a series of spoken word pieces exploring the language of place and how the use of public space can affect human interaction. As a city dripping in history and poetry, Venice is also a city overrun with tourists, and it is through this lens I will be asking questions around: ownership, belonging and how the ways we use our bodies can impact the environments we inhabit.
"I will also be working in the British Pavilion at the 2023 Biennale Architettura, where I will have the chance to meet incredible artists, architects and curators from around the world, and take part in conversation of how our creative industries envision the future."
